Sanctions screening software

Screen customers and payments against sanctions, PEP and adverse-media lists, with matching you configure and lists Salv keeps current.

How it works

Trusted by 130+ financial institutions across 30 jurisdictions

Sanctions screening software checks customers and payments against sanctions, PEP and adverse-media lists and raises an alert when a name matches closely enough to need review.

Leave list maintenance to Salv and keep control of the rest with Salv Screening: what's screened, how it matches, and which false positives stay cleared. You can even test a change against your own history before it goes live.

What Salv's sanctions screening software checks, and when

Customers are screened at onboarding, then re-screened automatically several times a day as lists change, and on demand through the API. Payments are screened in real time: your system makes the call and gets the decision back in the response, while the payment is still in flight. That's real-time sanctions screening: a decision inside the payment's own window.

Individuals are screened against sanctions, PEP and adverse-media lists; companies against sanctions, with adverse media as an add-on; payments against sanctions and your own custom lists.

See it on your own data

The lists, kept current for you: sanctions, PEP and adverse media

Take list maintenance off your team's desk. Salv maintains Dow Jones lists and refreshes them several times a day. Coverage includes international and domestic sanctions, and Sanctions Control & Ownership: companies owned or controlled by OFAC, EU or UK sanctioned parties without being listed themselves.

PEP coverage extends to relatives and close associates. Adverse media on people covers legal processes for corruption, financial crime, trafficking, organised crime, terrorism and tax crime; adverse media on legal entities is an add-on. Your own custom and internal lists sit alongside all of it.

Matching you configure, field by field

Set which fields are screened, against which lists, for which customer segments, and with which matching type. Reusable list groups let you control the underlying programmes, not just a list type such as sanctions. Draft a flow, run it against your own history with different settings, and see the alerts it would have raised before it goes live.

Entries are normalised and cleaned first, and transliteration covers Cyrillic, Greek and Chinese (Traditional). Choose matching per field: fuzzy for names, where spelling varies, with a threshold you set; exact for an account number; contains for messy fields such as free-text payment references; or prefix. AI-Powered Insights adjudicates a name match and explains its reasoning, but it's informational only: it never closes an alert or makes the decision.

Fewer repeat false positives

Clear a match once. Good-listing remembers matches your team has already cleared, keyed on identifiers you choose. Clearance rules close alerts that meet conditions you set, from the library or your own, and every auto-closed alert stays on the record as an audit trail. Significant Update Indicators decide which changes are material enough to re-alert a person, or to take a transaction back out of good-listing.

When a hit involves another bank, settle it with the counterparty directly through Salv Bridge, using bank-to-bank sanctions clearance.

Screening is one tool in the set.
